Floor Sanding Service in Middlesbrough
Floor Sanding in Middlesbrough – Wooden Flooring Experts
Original pine boards sit beneath a surprising number of Middlesbrough homes. The town grew quickly in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and much of that housing—terraces around North Ormesby, semis through Linthorpe and Acklam, older properties near Albert Park—was built with softwood floors that later disappeared under carpet for decades.
When those carpets come up, the boards underneath usually need more than a quick sand. We start by looking properly: how much timber remains above the tongue, whether the boards are loose, whether old service cuts have left weak spots, whether there is any sign of damp or historic woodworm. Only then do we recommend a course of action.
For most floors, that means a staged sand and refinish. For others, repair comes first—re-securing loose boards, replacing split or missing sections with reclaimed pine, punching old cut nails, and filling gaps where movement has opened them up. Parquet, where it survives in hallways and front rooms, gets a slower, more careful treatment: blocks re-adhered, then diagonal sanding across the pattern so the grain stays intact.
Our services in Middlesbrough cover:
- Wood floor sanding and refinishing
- Parquet floor sanding and block repair
- Floorboard repair, replacement, and gap filling
- Dust-free sanding with professional extraction
- Staining, oiling, and sealing to suit the property
Every floor is assessed on its own terms. A terrace near the docks and a 1930s semi in Acklam are not the same job, and we do not treat them as such.
