Wooden Stairs Renovation FAQs
How much does it cost?
The cost of replacing or rebuilding a staircase depends heavily on the materials, size and design involved. To provide you with an accurate estimate, we’d need to visit your property, assess the scale of the job and agree on the finer details of the job. But rest assured, our prices are among the most competitive around.
Can a staircase be repaired?
Absolutely, we repair them in London regularly. In many cases, replacing broken sections with quality hardwood is enough to extend the life of it for many years.
How do I refurbish it?
We always advise people to enlist the services of specialists. This job is a highly technical process that requires several skills. Attempting such a huge job yourself without formal training could make things worse.
How do you fix creaking stairs from above?
One way to tackle this issue is to screw the tread into the riser. However, if you don’t know what you’re doing, you could create a seriously dangerous hazard in your home. Our advice is to always hire professionals for the job.
Why is it creaking?
In our experience, creaking noises are caused by two issues: shrinkage of the timbers and general wear and tear. We can identify the cause during a visit to your property and suggest the most cost-effective way of dealing with it.

So impressed with this company, we thought our floor was damaged beyond repair but David has restored it to better than new.
He also helped us get a colour we were happier with by adding a white stain before applying the varnish.
Towards the end of the day we had to leave for an event and David even locked up for us! Really excellent service all round, thank you!
